Thank you for visiting the website of the Department of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics) Education, School of Education, Kathmandu University (KU). KU was established in November 1991 as an autonomous, not-for-profit, non-governmental public institution dedicated to maintaining high standards of academic excellence. Under Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED), the Mathematics Education unit was established in 2006 and had been running various academic programs related to mathematics and mathematics education. In 2019, the unit was extended to the department of STEAM Education. To date, the department runs 11 different programs in Bachelor's, PGDE, Master's, MPhil, and Ph.D. In the context of emerging Progressive and Holistic Education, innovation in education, integrated learning, and education, etc., the academic programs at the department aim at developing/producing skillful and creative instructors, teacher-educators, researchers, curriculum and resource material developers, innovative practitioners, skillful human resources for TVET sectors, etc. The graduates from this department develop excellent academic exposure, skills, and transformative mindsets/attitudes to transform their personal life and educational practices. Similarly, they get exposure to represent themselves on international platforms.
