The Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Joining Forces (JF) Nepal at its Hattiban campus in Lalitpur on 22 May 2026. Joining Forces Nepal—a global coalition of prominent child-focused agencies including ChildFund, Plan International, Save the Children, SOS Children’s Villages, Terre des Hommes, and World Vision—partnered with KUSOED to establish a strategic alliance focused on child development, policy advocacy, and rigorous academic research. The agreement formalizes a shared commitment to combining academic expertise with grassroots civil society advocacy to improve child well-being across the region.

The partnership lays the groundwork for sustained collaboration rooted in mutual respect, shared knowledge, and joint capacity-building initiatives. Under the framework of this MoU, KUSOED and Joining Forces Nepal will execute collaborative activities, publish research, and lead evidence-based advocacy campaigns tailored to policy transformation and effective child rights practices. The signing marks a significant milestone in bridging academic scholarship with practical development initiatives to create lasting impacts for children and communities.

The Dean’s Office organized an interactive session on 20 April 2026 at the BMT Hall for the staff and faculty members of KUSOED. The session was conducted to share key institutional updates, discuss relevant operational and academic matters, and foster open communication across the school. By bringing faculty and administrative staff together, the meeting provided a shared platform to address ongoing institutional priorities and align efforts toward common goals.

Participants engaged in constructive discussions regarding academic activities and administrative processes, sharing their insights and perspectives on institutional growth. The session successfully enhanced cross-departmental communication, strengthened coordination among team members, and promoted a clearer, unified understanding of KUSOED’s broader academic and institutional direction.

The Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) hosted the Certificate Distribution Ceremony for the International Collaborative Action Research (ICAR) 2025 program at the BMT Building on 25 June 2026. The ceremony celebrated BTech Ed IT students who successfully completed a comprehensive 90-day international collaborative initiative. Designed to enhance academic and professional English language competencies, the ICAR program provided a structured, cross-border learning environment that brought together participants from across South Asian countries to engage in joint research and communicative exchanges.

Throughout the three-month journey, students developed key technical writing, presentation, and intercultural collaboration skills through continuous interaction with international peers. The program significantly elevated student confidence in articulating complex ideas, facilitating cross-cultural dialogue, and applying action research methodologies in global contexts. The certificate distribution formalised and honored the students' academic growth, dedication, and successful completion of this international learning initiative.

The Department of STEAM Education at the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) organized the 4th STEAM Seminar at Machhapuchhre IB World School in Lalitpur on 27 June 2026. Spearheaded by the MEd in STEAM Education (2025 Batch) and supported through sponsorship from the University Grants Commission (UGC), Nepal, the seminar served as a prominent platform for educators, researchers, and graduate students to address modern educational transformations. The event focused on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, holistic well-being, innovative assessment methodologies, and integrated STEAM pedagogy to foster future-ready learning frameworks.

The program facilitated robust scholarly exchange through a series of keynote addresses, paper presentations, and interactive panel discussions. Participants gained actionable insights into transformative STEAM practices and examined the growing impact of AI tools in curriculum design and classroom delivery. By promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and innovative thinking, the seminar strengthened academic networks among attendees and reinforced KUSOED's commitment to advancing progressive, technology-infused educational research.

The BTech Ed IT students and faculty members of the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) organized the KUETC Club Formation and Member Election program at the BMT Hall on 10 July 2026. The primary objective of the initiative was to establish a dedicated student organization that serves as a dynamic platform for academic, technical, and extracurricular engagement. The event sought to cultivate leadership capacities, institutional collaboration, and active teamwork within the BTech Ed IT cohort through a transparent and democratic process.

Through an organized voting session, participating students cast their ballots to elect executive representatives and committee members for the newly established club. The successful formation of the KUETC Club marks a vital step in enhancing student governance, empowering learners to lead peer initiatives, and fostering a collaborative community environment tailored to technical and professional growth.

The Department of STEAM Education at the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) with Broadway Infosys at its Hattiban campus in Lalitpur on 13 July 2026. Designed specifically to enhance the Bachelor of Technical Education in Information Technology (BTech Ed IT) program, the partnership establishes a strategic bridge between academia and the IT industry. The agreement focuses on embedding real-world exposure, technical mentorship, and market-aligned skill development directly into the academic journey of future-ready technical educators and IT professionals.

Under this collaborative framework, Broadway Infosys and KUSOED will partner on structured internship and traineeship pathways, industry-supervised training programs, and career placement support. Additionally, the initiative integrates expert-led guest lectures, technical workshops, joint research initiatives, and academic competitions to keep students aligned with evolving industry demands. The agreement strengthens the connection between university education and the technology sector, ensuring students acquire practical experience, specialized technical skills, and professional guidance.

The BTech Ed IT students of the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) organized a Teachers’ Day celebration at the BMT Hall on 29 July 2026. The program was designed to express gratitude and honor faculty members for their ongoing dedication, mentorship, and contributions to students' academic and personal growth. The event served to deepen the relationships between students and educators through a shared occasion of appreciation and camaraderie.

The celebration featured student-led presentations and interactive activities that fostered a warm, welcoming environment for faculty and participants alike. The Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) conducted an Assessment Workshop for visiting and in-house faculty members of the BTech Ed IT program at the BMT Hall on 8 August 2026. The workshop aimed to enhance faculty competencies in assessment and evaluation practices aligned with Kathmandu University’s institutional academic guidelines. Discussions focused on clarifying assignment structures, establishing rigorous assessment criteria, designing comprehensive rubrics, and implementing effective tools for evaluating student learning outcomes.

Through active engagement and peer discussion, participating faculty established a standardized baseline for assessment design and rubric-based grading across the program. The session fostered improved alignment among teaching staff, promoting greater consistency, transparency, and fairness in student evaluations while supporting faculty in applying contemporary assessment methodologies to enhance academic quality.

The School of Education, Kathmandu University (KUSOED), organized a three-day in-person contact session for 2nd and 4th-semester M.Ed. in Mathematics Education students at its Hattiban campus in Lalitpur. The program was designed to offer students a direct, face-to-face learning experience to deepen their academic engagement and bridge virtual coursework with practical pedagogical insights. Throughout the three days, students participated in intensive lectures, peer discussions, and collaborative learning activities aimed at advancing their knowledge of advanced mathematical education concepts.
